Java access updates - May 18 '04
Recently the network where we locate our home support channel has undergone some server updates. This has had a slight effect on some java users.
Luckily, for anyone experiencing any problems accessing our java chat channel, this is a problem that can be fixed quickly.
If you're having problems it is likely that your computer has the old version of the java cached, which would be unable to deal with the upgrades.
The way to fix that is to go into your Java Control
Panel, go to the Cache settings and View the current cache, then find the
cr.zip in the list (it will also have a random string of characters
after it, so like cr.zip-71c58fbb647a). Select that particular cr.zip, and
Delete it. Then, the next time you try to load the page, it will force
the browser to download the updated client.
You can also download the Sun Java Plugin and install this, instead of using the old
Microsoft built-in Java. That can be downloaded here. This should then allow access to all
Webmaster java clients.
